Hucul Tifflographs
The project presents a series of tactile graphics inspired by traditional Hutsul plates, allowing their rich ornamentation to be experienced through touch.
Hucul Tifflographs
The project of tactile graphics inspired by Hutsul ceramics combines tradition, inclusive design, and cultural education. I created three touchable artworks based on decorative Hutsul plates, carefully adapted for visually impaired and blind audiences. Each piece matches the original plate’s size, capturing the authentic scale and rhythm of traditional ornamentation.
The graphics were printed on swell paper and mounted on thin plywood, ensuring durability, ease of use, and a refined finish. This project not only enhances accessibility to cultural heritage but also actively promotes the rich and unique culture of the Hutsul region in a modern, inclusive format.
As a designer, I combine empathy for diverse audiences with a deep respect for tradition—creating work that is thoughtful, functional, and culturally grounded.
